The In Her Power Fashion Show is a bold, uplifting celebration of everything women are, and everything they are becoming. Hosted by the NYC Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology alongside Miss City of New York, Felicia Gambino, this one-night community fundraiser takes place on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 PM at Edgewater Hall and promises an evening full of fashion, creativity, and sisterhood.
Diana Varvaro is a visionary leader and educator in the beauty industry, currently serving as Director at Paul Mitchell The School NYC. Since graduating as valedictorian from Paul Mitchell in 2009, Diana has cultivated a career that blends education, creativity, and community impact. She became a Cosmetology educator in 2013, driven by her passion for mentoring future beauty leaders and ensuring students receive an exceptional education that prepares them for success.
A licensed hairstylist and professional freelance makeup artist, Diana’s work has been featured in Bella Magazine and on high-profile New York City runways. She fosters an inclusive and empowering environment, guiding students toward prestigious opportunities such as New York Fashion Week and building strong community connections for career placement.
Beyond education, Diana is deeply committed to philanthropy, dedicating herself to Paul Mitchell’s annual fundraising campaigns and local initiatives. She has been recognized with the Soroptimist Ruby Award for her outstanding contributions to the community, reflecting her dedication to service, leadership, and positive impact.
Diana embodies Paul Mitchell Schools’ philosophy: “When people come first, success will follow.” She believes that cultivating kindness, care, and strong relationships is the true key to success in both business and life.
Felicia Gambino, Miss City of New York 2026, is a community leader, mental health advocate, and master’s-level social work student dedicated to service, empowerment, and impact. Felicia is a trained suicide prevention educator and the founder of The Magicians Project, a community initiative focused on suicide prevention education, advocacy, and fundraising. Through this work, she has helped raise over $100,000 in support of suicide prevention efforts while creating spaces for connection, healing, and hope.
Felicia uses her platform to amplify underrepresented voices, promote mental wellness, and inspire others to lead with compassion and purpose. Her work spans community outreach, education, and advocacy, all rooted in the belief that empowerment begins when individuals are seen, valued, and supported.
As the co-organizer of this evening’s fashion show, Felicia is honored to celebrate the many dimensions of womanhood, strength, creativity, resilience, and ambition. This event reflects her commitment to uplifting women and fostering community partnerships, including collaboration with Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology, whose students proudly support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as their charity of choice.
Built in the 19th century and reimagined for sophisticated celebrations, Edgewater Hall blends historic architecture with contemporary elegance. Situated on Staten Island’s North Shore, it stands among the borough’s oldest surviving commercial storefronts. Once home to a bank, community hall, and later a Prohibition-era speakeasy, its gilded tin ceilings, exposed red brick, and original vaults now create an unforgettable destination for weddings, films, and cultural events.
